De Hortus

The Hortus was founded as a medicinal garden by the mayor of Amsterdam to save the town from a new plague epidemic. In 1986 local citizens saved the garden from closure due to defunding. The Hortus, an independent foundation, celebrated its 375th anniversary in 2013. We have worked for more than 9 years for the Hortus.
